The Trail of Ten Falls, Silver Falls State Park, Oregon

A couple days ago I decided I wanted to hike the Trail of Ten Falls in Silver Falls State Park. It isn't too far from Silverton Oregon. This also the time to go and find waterfalls to picture. During the rainy season in the PNW is the best time to do so. The waterfalls are full and that makes them more picturesque in my opinion. The only negative I see is that if venturing out on this trail for a hike you will get wet. But, if prepared for the hike rain gear is needed. I would also say that doing a little homework while planning your adventure is in order too. It only takes a few minutes and it is worth your time to do so. I started at South Falls and went clock wise around the loop which is between 8.1 and 9 miles depending on how many side trails you take along the way. I ended the hike logging about 9.1 miles. I met a fellow hiker along the way that started about the same time I did and went counter clock wise around the loop. I would suggest doing the same. You get rid of hiking by the road first and then can better enjoy all the waterfalls that are in front of you. It is just a thought. I wouldn't say that this was a hard hike at all. There is elevation gain on this hike but not all that bad. I will be adding pictures of my hike to my webpage so check back soon to see those.

North Falls I would say is my favorite Falls of the ten waterfalls on this trail. Just how the water falls over the edge and then how the water flows from it is so amazing! Hope you enjoy my pictures.
