A Drive Along The Oregon Coast

When you think of the Pacific Northwest in December what usually comes to mind? To me its clouds and rain for the most part. On my spontaneous trip to the beach it was a typical day in the PNW, rain, wind and clouds. It rained most of the trip to the beach and most of the time I spent down at the beach. I wanted to go and see if I could get some good pictures of the rough seas I had been hearing things about. I saw a lot of rough seas and I also saw a lot of sea foam on the beach. I also saw some high surf advisories around too. It wasn't a real nice time to actually be beach combing and or watching the ocean. Well, you should be keeping an eye on the surf anyway. I got some good pictures of the Oregon Coast. My best pictures came from Pacific City, Oregon. I will post those pictures in a few days. So, check back in a few days for that.

I would love to spend more time at the beach if possible. I am have a few more days to maybe get back out there. But, the weather hasn't been good the last couple of days. I enjoy taking long walks on the beach just soaking in the sound and site of the ocean. I also enjoy hiking in the mountains that are fairly close to the beaches. That makes for some really good views of the coast line. I am sure that I will be hiking close to the Oregon coast in the next month or so.

On this drive I drove from Portland area to Cannon Beach. I stopped there to walk around the town. Then I ventured down on the beach to do a little walking and I took some nice pictures of haystack rock in the distance. It was windy and not that cold. That's nice since it is the end of December. Once I got done I drove down though Tillamook on my way to Pacific City, Oregon. That is another one of my favorite places along the Oregon Coast. It is a nice place to get out and walk along the beach and just chill for a few hours. I went for a walk and took some snaps of the Ocean. The rain was heavy and the wind was pretty strong. I walk about a mile down the beach and then turned around and walked back. I was very thankful that I put on my rain gear for the beach walk. All in all I had a great time in Pacific City. Once I got back to my car I got in and away I went back to town. I will also post pictures in a few days from this adventure too. Have a great start to a new week.
